SAUDI PHARMACEUTICAL INDUSTRY

A report by IQVIA International Drug Information Corporation published in January 2020 revealed that the Saudi drug market has 371 companies and about 25 drug factories at the end of 2020.

Expected to add an additional 5 factories in order to meet today’s high domestic demand, only 30% of pharmaceutical products are manufactured locally which does not support domestic consumption.

Nor does current capacity even begin to meet the growing demand for MENA exports which currently do not exceed 10% of production.
